Installing Your New Eprom

Tools Needed:

Small flat blade screwdriver.

Important Notice:

This eprom chip is nothing more than a software upgrade, it will repair bugs that were found in earlier versions. This is not a fix-all chip if your machine is malfunctioning unless directly related to the eprom chip itself.

Some areas of your playfield contain very high voltage, be sure and install this kit with the power turned off.

Installation:

First, you will need to locate your games current eprom. It is located in the head of your pinball machine, generally on the left hand side. It should be marked with a sticker showing the games name and software version. It will be in an eprom chip holder as apposed to being soldered to the board.

Before you remove your old eprom, notice that there is a notch on one end. It is very important that your new eprom is installed in the same direction! If you have already removed it, there is a outline of the chip printed on the circuit board under the chip holder showing you the notch. With your flat blade screwdriver, very carefully slide it between the eprom chip and the eprom chip holder. Turning the blade slowly, work the chip free of the chip holder. You will want to be very careful not to bend or break off any of the 32 pins on the chip. Now you can install the new chip being sure the notch is going in the proper direction regardless of the direction of the label on the chip. Push the new chip in being sure that all 32 pins are inserted in the sockets together...it’s easy to bend or break these pins!

Now turn on your machine, it will start with all factory settings restored and your new software version will be displayed.

Your new eprom chip has a 30 day warranty from the day you receive it. This warranty covers the chip itself and the workmanship of the programming only. If for any reason this chip does not perform properly, please email me for instruction on how to return it for replacement.

I’m happy to answer any questions you may have on this installation, just let me know!
